INTI National Meeting

The Integration of Third Country Nationals

Tuesday 6th February 2007

The Music Room, St James Cavalier, Valletta

8:30 – 13:00

The INTI National Meeting is part of an INTI funded project ‘EUNET Integration Network’.  INTI is a European Union (EU) funding programme for preparatory actions promoting the integration in the EU member states of people who are not citizens of the EU. Its aim is also to promote dialogue with civil society, develop integration models, seek out and evaluate best practices in the integration field and set up networks at European level.

The INTI National Meeting is an important event where the main stakeholders working with third country nationals (TCNs) in Malta will meet to discuss the integration of TCNs in the EU.

The INTI National Meeting will include representatives from the Government, foreign embassies, NGOs, the Church and TCNs who will present and discuss their policies, practices and challenges of integration of TCNs in the EU.

The aim of the meeting is for the various stakeholders to exchange their policies, practices and challenges of integration of third country nationals in the EU.

In Malta there is a significant amount of work being done for the integration of TCNs by the Government, foreign embassies, NGOs, the Church and TCNs themselves.  SOS Malta is hosting the INTI National Meeting in order to support the work being done in Malta for the integration of TCNs in the EU.

This project is co-financed by the European Community under the INTI Programme – Preparatory Actions for the Integration of Third Country Nationals
